To address the boiler system woes plaguing the Public Safety Building, the City of Turlock sought the expertise of a reliable partner: Champion Industrial. The task involved a meticulous assessment of the building’s heating hot water system, which revealed a troublesome finding. Over 50% of the reheating coils within the system were obstructed, preventing the flow of hot water through them, thereby failing to deliver the much-needed warmth to the building.
Champion Industrial embarked on a comprehensive plan to rectify the situation. They began by cataloging the sizes and materials required to clean or replace these obstructed coils. The final count revealed that more than 55 coils needed replacement, and a complete system flushing was imperative. This extensive process also involved the dismantling and rebuilding the boiler system, including brushing the tubes for optimal efficiency.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the root cause of this heating predicament was the absence of proper chemical treatment in the system. To prevent the recurrence of such issues, Champion Industrial implemented a preventative maintenance program that would serve as a proactive measure against future complications.
